Nickelodeon Worldwide Day of Play
Day of Play
Day of Play is an annual event designed to encourage children and parents to turn off the television and play, especially outdoors. The event encourages children to think about getting away from the TV and being physically active.
To make this message even stronger, Nickelodeon turns its screens on black on the DOP.
“Go out and play” initiative was launched by Nickelodeon in the U.S. in 2003 and has since spread to all parts of the world, such as India, France, South America, Belgium and Portugal. All countries have since developed their own versions of the initiative.
